The ACT Test is a national college entrance test that students take during their junior and/or senior year. It includes tests in English, math, reading, and science reasoning. You should also take the writing portion of the ACT; however, I would check with the school that you plan to attend to see if it is necessary or not to take and spend the extra money.  If you are not sure, then I would strongly suggest that you take the writing portion.  Students may take it as many times as they want to, however, the October and December tests taken in the senior year are the last two that used by colleges for scholarships. When scholarship information is submitted, students can use the highest set of test scores for the application.
