 | | Hello, my name is Krista Rector, I have been teaching at Deer Trail High School for seventeen years. I am currently teaching high school business and computer education classes, Life Skills/Home Economics, as well as middle school computers. Along with these duties, I am one of the technical coordinators for the school district. I also teach Introduction to PC Applications for Morgan Community College in the Fall. Some other duties consist of career counselor, testing coordinator, National Honor Society Advisor, and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). I have also been assistant high school girls basketball coach.
I graduated from the University of Wyoming in the Fall of 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education at the secondary level. I currently hold a valid Professional Teacher License in the State of Colorado. I also have a Masters in Education - Integrating Technology in the Classroom from Walden University, received April 2006.

 | | | Accounting I will give students a thorough background in the basic accounting procedures used to operate a business or for their own personal use. Topics covered in this class are: Accounting for Proprietorship, Partnerships, and Corporation. We will also be using PeachTree Accounting software to supplement the textbook and to implement the use of computers. | |

 | | | Topics covered in this class are: problem-solving strategies and alternate methods of computation to solve a wide range of consumer problems as well as solid basic skills. | |

 | | | This class is designed to acquaint the student with the different types of software that are being used today. Students will learn the operation of the keyboard, and how to use a computer effectively. We will be using Windows XP software, along with Print Shop. The basics of keyboarding techniques and keying properly are introduced as well as learning proper formatting and learning how to proofread. We will also have some cross-curricular assignments implemented into this course. | |

 | | | This course introduces computer concepts and components as well as coverage of application suit software and the Internet. Included are descriptions of hands-on experiences with word processors, spreadsheets, databases, operating environments and other PC applications packages. The following programs will be used: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. | |
