June 5th 10:00am "Rabbits on Vacation" This funny magic show stars real bunnies and lots of laughs!
June 12th 10:00am "Meet the Creepy Crawlies" Spiders, scorpions, and lots of other things to inspire wonder (or nightmares). Rowen brings her menagerie of pets to meet summer readers. You are guaranteed to see and be close enough to touch, if you dare. REAL INSECTS & ARACHNIDS!
June 13th 6:00pm "Dad's Day" Kids bring your dad or your grandpa and celebrate Father's Day by seeing how well you really know your dad. Then participate in a race to see who can get dad shaved and ready fastest and finally you'll both make matching duct tape wallets.
June 19th 10:00am "The Bubble Lady" One of the most popular performers in the last 5 years, Nancy shows kids how to make bubbles from anything. She shows them how to use plain stuff you have around the house to blow bubbles. She’ll even put kids inside giant bubbles!
June 26th 10:00am "Monsters Beware" There’s a monster under Denise’s bed. It will take all her courage and all her faithful dog Sienna’s smarts to find and dispel that monster. Will you help in this monster hunt? An interactive story that will take the whole audience to make sure Denise and Sienna can sleep peacefully.
July 10th 10:00am "Dream Catchers" Dreams will be on your mind when you hear a dreamy story and make a dream catcher.
July 11th 6:00pm "Play Big, Read Big, Dream Big" Parents and Kids, spark your summer of reading with hands on activities and crafts for the whole family. Our children's librarians will be there with lots of ideas perfect for playing and learning together. You'll go home with a surprise bag of great ideas to keep reading fun all summer long.
July 17th 10:00am "Summer Crafts" Four fun crafts suitable for various ages. Make as many or as little as you like!
July 24th 10:00am "Fireflies" Although fireflies aren't native to the front range of Colorado, they seem to have a place in our hearts. You'll hear a story about a firefly then make your own jar of glowing fireflies. You'll also get cool instructions so your family can make some fireflies that really light up the night.
Teen Programs at Davies Library for June and July 2012
June 29th 11:00am "Reach for the Stars Sculpture" Using wood stars, watercolors, rhinestones, hardware and tools, you'll create a unique sculpture.
July 13th 1:00pm "Fool Your Taste Buds" Does your sense of smell affect how something tastes? Can you eat a lemon like candy? In this entertaining program, you'll taste several foods, chew a "miracle berry" and sample again. You'll even learn the science behind this amazing happening.
